After 25 years in the business, I am finally biting the bullet and attending my first ’scaper gathering - TPIE.

Any suggestions as to how to best spend my short time (Friday and Saturday) there?

WELL IT’S ABOUT TIME WILL!

Yeah... I meant to shout :)

Although TPIE is huge, it’s not unmanageable. You’ll have more than enough time to see everything in the day and a half that you have.

Hope we’ll run into you...and the rest of you too.

Steve

I think I could give some really great advice from the framework of your personality. Different people get different things out of life, and often there are many ways of acheiving a goal, no? Those who are people persons may gain energy and knowledge anecdotally. Those who are technical may want to go to classes (which take up an entire day.) Those who are workaholics may need to unwind. Those who are just starting out may really work the stands getting to know new things and aborb information. Those to whom this is old hat may be there to be challenged to be impressed.

This my fourth year, I created a very specific list of goals for myself. But, allow me to give an example from my third year. After two feverish years of trying to see everything and collect information from every booth and volunteer and attend classes- for one thing, I decided to focus in on pesticide/horticultural products and specifically exclude grower and plant availability. It simply was most conducive to my position at that time considering that Foliage Design has a plant purchaser. (nothing personal to the growers- love yah.)

No matter what, there is always too much to see and never enough time! Aint that life, though. Good luck, and I’m sure you’ll find your way and enjoy it thoroughly.....

Yours in benevolence, Lynnae.

Thanks Lynnae. You mean I have to take my personlity to TPIE? I was hoping I could leave that at home and get a little break from it.
